The Story Behind DognPooch
DognPooch was created out of passion and necessity: a passion for helping dogs and their owners and a necessity to craft a life that can be enjoyed every day – not just on the weekends. There are so many dogs out there with owners that don’t know (or don’t have time) to train their pups when all it takes is a little consistency every day after establishing some ground rules.
A dog is both a blessing and a challenge – much like a typical kid. When your dog is trained properly, your life with your dog changes dramatically. Life becomes “Can Fido come with us?” rather than “Just leave Fido at home”; or “Don’t touch Fido – he jumps and barks” to “Fido enjoys his place and some human love”. If you have a dog that needs some training, you should learn more about the man behind DognPooch, Mark Lipes (that’s me!), your future dog trainer!
What We
Services Provide
Board & Train
Our passion at DognPooch is changing lives – both dogs’ lives and your life as well. The best way we do that is through our one or two week Board & Train programs.
E-Collar Training
One of the most useful, and safest, training tools available is the E-Collar. Unfortunately, the misinformation surrounding
Leash Training
Many owners experience lunging, pulling, and even leash reactivity – reacting to other dogs and people only when on a leash.
Barking
. Whether a dog is alone or even with his owner, out in public or at home, during the day or in the middle of the night, excessive barking is a frustrating experience.
Basic Commands
Trying to control a dog that hasn’t learned basic obedience commands can be very frustrating and is stressful on the relationship between a dog and his owner.
Jumping Dogs
Not only is it irritating when your dog jumps up on your guests and gets their clothes dirty, it can also be a safety hazard to a child or elderly person.
Leash Pulling
Walking a dog that constantly pulls on the leash is not an enjoyable experience. It can be hard to find the motivation to take your dog out when you feel like it is a constant struggle.
Aggression
Aggression can include a number of different issues depending on the dog. However, it is almost always a result of a lack of structure in the home.

Client's Testimonial
Mark Lipes is truly great at what he does. I strongly recommend anyone with a dog in their family take time to send their puppy/dog to Mark’s training. His service is truly priceless. Before choosing Mark at DognPooch to care for our little one I called many, many training facilities within about 200 miles of our town. Not only was DognPooch well priced and close by, Mark was the first person willing to speak with me personally and to send videos and references without me even asking. He answered my many, many questions with grace and authority.
I took my 12 month old Corgi to be trained in March. I was apprehensive never having left her before. Living on 11acres with occasional sightings of Mountain Lions and packs of Coyotes roaming, safety became an issue. Training with Mark was the best investment I ever made. During her days of training, I received videos throughout the day of her progress.
HIGHLY recommend DognPooch for board and train. They are professional and communicative. Sending my Shepherd/Pitt there was a game changer. Not only did I get updates during her stay, but Mark walked me through how to continue the work he had done thoroughly when I picked her up. I’ve recommended him to all friends my with dogs. I would give him 10 stars but that isn’t an option.
At 4 months old, our adorable Labrador puppy was becoming our worst “NIGHTMARE”! She was barking, jumping, nipping and biting at us until we were bruised and bloody! None of the training and socialization with food or treats we were using was working at all. I could not take her on a walk for fear that she would knock me down, and my husband would come back from a walk angry and frustrated. Our vet even mentioned medication to help calm her!
